In one of the latest updates for Overwatch multiplayer first-person shooter, a new ban system has appeared. The forbidden heroes are chosen not by the players before the match, but by the developers themselves. Moreover, the list changes every week. Now Blizzard has announced its desire to change this system. Players will still not be allowed to ban heroes, but the list of forbidden heroes will be determined automatically using a special algorithm, depending on the winrate and picrate. At the same time, the same characters will not be able to get into the ban for two weeks in a row. These changes will enter into force on April 13 and will act both in rating matches and in the Overwatch League.
